答朋友的信兼加拿大两年生活总结

Thanks ***,

Yes, how time flies!

It will be full two years when I leave Calgary this September 2nd. I still remember the feeling when I first reached Calgary. I was so excited. It was a completely new experience for me. Clean air, nice people, different language and new life style….

In the past two years, I did a lot and also missed a lot.

Obviously, I successfully finished my master’s studies here. I have also improved my English, travelled several times, had a steady marriage life with Jenny and made some new friends. The most important part is that, I am not only a new comer, but now feel like I am a Calgarian by both the appearance I have and how I am inside my heart.

I definitely missed a lot about China. I don't exactly know how my parents lived without me in Jinan. I haven’t seen my little nephew, even though he is already able to say “uncle” over the phone.  No passion arose within the research I did. I became further and further away from my friends in China. I tried to stay the same old way, but it seems I can’t retain the old lifestyle. Those are facts I should accept and a cost I need to pay.

However, I do not feel any regrets, because this has been my choice.

Life is so short. Mostly we don’t have a second chance for the past and future, but I can say I have had a second life during the past two years, especially since I have had so many happy memories with you and all other friends. It has all been worth it.

Thanks for your email again and I will talk to you later.

Bill
